Card Challenge 1.15.11

This week's Christmas card challenge at Crafty Hazelnut's is to use trees.
I used sketch #52 at OWH Stars & Stamps blog.

All paper is by Basic Grey
Distress ink is Tim Holtz
Gold Leaf on the star is Elmer's
I freehand cut the pieces for the tree and embossed the top and bottom sections with my Cuttlebug. The sides of each section of the tree are glued down but the center bottom of each is pop-dotted for a little dimension - of course the start is pop-dotted to!

Here is a close-up to show dimension.

2010 Christmas Card

Every year I send a photo Christmas card and letter. I have an 8 1/2" x 11" album that I keep a copy in for myself. It is fun to go back through the years and see how my kids have grown, to read the letters, and to see how my scrapping has improved!

I used a sketch from Sketch Inspirations to scrap this year's card.
All product is BoBunny Midnight Frost collection.
Pearls and rhinestones are from Recollections.

Card Challenge

I am going to try to make lots of cards for Operation Write Home this year. They send hand made cards to soldiers so that the soldiers have cards to send home to their families. The soldiers and their families sacrifice so much for our freedom, the least I can do is pray for them and provide them with nice cards for their families. My friend Tina introduced me to Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas Challenge Blog. Hazel encourages us to keep our Christmas scrapping supplies out all year long and presents a new Christmas Card Challenge each week. This should really help me with continuing to make cards for Operation Write Home. This week I used a sketch and products from My Minds Eye Card Challenge 19 to make my Christmas card.

Paper: My Minds Eye Bohemia Bungalow Tiny Dots on Basic Kraft
Star Die Cut: My Minds Eye Laundry Line My Boy
Font: Santa's Sleigh
