This was my third "girl" but couldn't post it till I gave her to Jess today! Jess does amazing 3D art on her scrapbooks so I thought this phrase was appropriate for her. (Check out her blog here.) Red and black is one of Jess's favorite color combos, the purple boots were just meant to be!
this is a place for me to share my creativity with you ~ thanks for stopping by!

Cessna Girl
This mixed media art piece is being donated to The International Cessna 170 Association for their fund raising auction at the 2011 convention. The background is an airport sectional and the silhouette is a Cessna 170. The piece is 8x10 on canvas.
I love how the name of one of the places on the map is "Field of Dreams"!

Lucky Charms
I wasn't even going to scrap this photo even though it's cute.
I knew that kelly green paper would be difficult to locate in my stash!
Then I found a scrap lift challenge at The Scrap Room and one of the girls had a St.Patty's day layout with lots of different papers and the title "Best Lucky Charms". Also, in my last box of purchases there was this glittery shamrock thrown in as a freebie. So that was it, I decided to go ahead and scrap it! I used the sketch by Scrapbaby! at Memory Lane PA.
This is my layout:
This is the layout by Melanie Call that I used for my scraplift:
I didn't scraplift the design, but it was more the color scheme, title, and banner that inspired my layout.
This is Jessica's sketch (I turned it):
Honestly, all of the product except the Shamrock is from deep in my stash and scraps so I don't even know who the manufacturer's are. The Shamrock is by Making Memories.
Thanks for looking!

Spring Fling
Well, sometimes a layout just won't come together and this is one of those times.
You can't love every layout you do, just put it in the album and move on!
I do love these pictures, though! We had a very rare 74 degree day five days ago and took Quinn and Jacob to the park. Today we had snow! It's still grey outside so hard to get a decent picture.
Sketch by Sketchy Thursday's (I turned it):
I put some netting under the flowers - it didn't help - lol!
close up of the journaling.
Paper and Chip alpha are My Minds Eye, Lush Pink;
Leaves are Prima; Lace & Pearls are Recollections;
Sakura Gelly Roll glitter pens

My 2nd She Art girl - Robin!
See this post for an explanation of She Art and my first girl!
This is my second girl - for my daughter, Robin - I have tremendous respect and admiration for the way she begins each day anew, never dragging forward any "junk". She is amazing and I love her so much!
The heart in the upper right corner really is not that prominent,
I think the light was just bouncing off it when I took the picture.

"She Art" = FUN!
I am taking an on-line workshop by Christy Tomlinson of Scarlett Lime. She is an incredibly talented mixed media artist and the workshop is how to create what Christy calls "She Art". We are creating mixed media art on canvas featuring girls. I used an 8"x10" canvas.
This is my very first one and I am over the top pleased with how she turned out. I made it for my boss, Dr. Sandy. I've included a picture of her here also, I'm so pleased with the similarity! One of the things Dr. Sandy says a lot to her patients is "Your thoughts create your reality" so I included that on my canvas.
You really should go visit Christy's blog, her work is amazing. I am so inspired by her and am having a blast taking her workshop.

Quinn's Fishy Face
Of course I had to scrap this picture!
My sweet Quinn making her fishy face!
Entered at the MLPA challenge using Jess's awesome sketch:
Patterned paper is by Fancy Pants Designs, Love Bird collection;
Wave border is Autumn Leaves sprayed with Tattered Angels Pearl mist;
Tim Holtz distress ink "fired brick";
Letters are Sizzlits "Fruit Smoothie"
I cut every other space on the patterned paper die cut,
then scored the ones I didn't cut, bent them up and
pop-dotted them for dimension:
I sprayed the border with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist in Pearl
to give it some shimmer and I traced around the fish with
a Sakura Gelly Roll pen in silver:
Thanks for looking - I'd love to hear your comments!

BoBunny February card challenge
This card entered in the BoBunny February Card Challenge using this sketch:
Also entered at Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas Challenge
her challenge this week is to use a sentiment.
I used BoBunny's beautiful Noel collection.
I kept the card "flat" as it will go to Operation Write Home
for one of our troops to send home.
Here is the inside (it is the reverse of the base paper)
with space at the top to write a note.

Awesome (Zachary)
This is my brother's son Zachary in the summer of 2009
I've had this picture already printed in 8x10 for more than a year now and the perfect sketch finally came along! I knew the instant I saw this week's sketch at Sketchy Thursdays that I wanted to reverse it and that I wanted to use this photo! (It's scary the things that I remember that I have, and what goes on in my head with them!)
Patterned paper: Fancy Pants "Rusted Sun";
Ribbon: BoBunny "Annasophia";
Letters and blue dots: Cloud 9 Design "Rain dots";
Sun and Flip Flop Icons: Microsoft Word Clip Art;
Surfboard Icon: Unknown patterned paper from stash;
Distress Ink: Tim Holtz
Here is the sketch (I had to flip flop it (ha!) to accommodate my photo):
Angled close up to show dimension of pop-dotted icons and epoxy letters:
