Scoot! (Jacob @ 12 months)

Jakey loves to push things, ride on things, and to be outside!
I found this little scooter at a yard sale for just five bucks - score!
I saw this awesome sketch at Get Picky and had to play along!

My layout:
All of the paper and elements are from the Crate Paper "Zoom" line. The base paper was a little loud so I lightly brushed it with parchment colored acrylic paint by Folk Art. Of course I had to use lots of Tim Holtz distress inks in "aged mahogany" and "mustard seed". The letters are American Crafts Thickers "Jewelry box".

I entered this layout at Scrap That Baby for Prompt #29 - Baby's day out.

Cameo Mother's Day cards

With Jacob's first birthday party last weekend, we celebrated Mother's Day today - good thing because that gave me time to make these super cute cards!
Here is how I made the cameo's:
I took profile pictures of the kids and changed them to black and white, then I printed them on regular white paper (next time I will use cardstock), then I cut them out, and then I painted them black.
I got the idea for the card mounts from Gina at StampTV. (Gina is seriously talented and has awesome tutorials and beautiful stamps - check her out!) The red background paper on Jacob's is from Cosmo Cricket and the green background paper on Quinn's is from Echo Park. If you love cameo's/silhouettes, pop over to the Practical Scrapper's blog on Tuesday for more inspiration - or make one of your own and e-mail it to Christine for possible publication!
So - here are the pictures I used:

And here are the cards:

Mommom loves her sweet girl!

This is my sweet Quinn on Easter. She is 17 months old.
I just got this set of Close To My Heart stamps that are doilies -
oh.my.goodness, they are absolutely amazing. The detail is unbelievable and they come out so crisp and clean. (The one at the top is a little fuzzy - totally my fault as I didn't have enough ink on it and had to stamp it again. The one on the right could have used more ink also - totally a learning curve problem on my part! The one at the bottom came out perfectly, be sure to click on the close up of it to see how awesome these stamps work)

I used this beautiful sketch by Becky Fleck and entered her Page Maps contest

Another fund raiser girl!

One of the students in the Christy Tomlinson She-Art Workshop I am taking has asked that we donate one of our canvases to a fund raiser she is working on. It turns out that the organization is near and dear to Christy's heart too! The organization is the Idaho Health Care Association -

"The IHCA is a non profit foundation that provides educational support for  caregivers of those working in long term care facilities, hospice programs, assisted living, and intermediate care facilities.  The Foundation Holds training and workshops for these caregivers and also awards scholarships to individuals pursing higher education."

Their theme this year is "Rising to New Heights". Here is the canvas I made for them:
