Brand New Friends - update - woo hoo! Winner of the August 18 Sketch Challenge at BoBunny!

This layout is about a wonderful little boy named Andrii who spent four weeks with my brother's family this summer. He lives in an orphanage in the Ukraine and came here through a mission group. He is such a sweet boy and we all fell in love with him. My brother and his wife hope to be able to keep contact with him and to help him, and maybe even bring him here again, when he is released from the orphanage at age 16.

I entered the layout in a sketch challenge at BoBunny.
Sketch is by Rita Shimniok.
I used BoBunny's "Flower Child" line.
Floss is DMC #743; Brads are Paper Wishes;
letters are Cosmo Cricket tiny type
and BoBunny "Calypso"

Design Dollies sketch

I just loved this weeks sketch on Design Dollies. It is by Kristy Dalman.
I used Patterned paper by Basic Grey from the Boxer line and the Granola line as well as from Crate Paper's zoom line. All of the elements are Basic Grey Boxer.

Design Dollies double

This week Design Dollies has an element challenge of "wave"
and a color challenge.

This Fancy Pants paper and transparency and the pictures of Zachary were perfect! I could have been more true to the color challenge by matting my photos in orange but I liked the red better with his towel and suit!
