Awesome Challenge Blog!

I just found out about Papercraft Star and can't wait to play along with them! Here is what they have to say about their site:

"Papercraft Star is a challenge blog that presents paper crafters of all skill levels with new challenges each week. Upon entering your project in the challenge the public is provided with an opportunity to vote on all projects entered for that challenge. At the close of the challenge the top vote getter will receive a Papercraft Star button and often valuable sponsor prizes.
Once per month we will also randomly draw a Grand Prize winner from all the participants of the challenges during that month (the more times you enter the challenges during the month, the more chances you have to win!) The winner will receive fabulous prizes from our sponsors"

Design Dollies tri-fecta!

I had my Fancy Pants Rusted Sun paper pack out to make the layout below about Joel and Sandy's tree (scroll down to see it - it's pretty awesome!) and then they were the perfect papers for the Design Dollies tri-fecta too! Woo-Hoo!
(The card base is BoBunny double dot)
The tri-fecta includes this sketch,
The colors: blue, green, orange, red
and a birthday theme.

In honor of my daughter Sandy's 25th birthday today:

Seasons of Beauty

This beautiful tree was in Joel and Sandy's front yard.
Unfortunately, they had to have it cut down this year.
So this is a tribute to its beauty in all seasons.
This sketch is by Julie Bonner and is for the
week #37 challenge at The Scrap Room.
All paper is by Fancy Pants from a number of their lines.
I cut the die cuts from the same paper as the photo is mounted on to create a monotone look and to keep the emphasis on the pictures.
I used Tim Holtz distress inks
and pearls from Queen, Kaiser, and Basic Grey.
The title letters are Fancy Pants also (except the "of")
I've added a bunch of close-ups. You can click on them to enlarge them if you like!

I appreciate your comments and would love it if you would follow my blog!

Simply Delightful

"Simply Delightful" is the sentiment on this Fancy Pants strip and is perfect for this picture of my precious granddaughter Quinn at 9 months!

I'm doing a Design Dollies Double with this layout. It is for the sketch challenge and for the color challenge of "black/white/pink/green".

All of the paper is by Fancy Pants from their "Wishful Thinking" and "Little Sprout" lines.

The flower centers are Making Memories - they were black and white which was perfect for the color challenge but I just couldn't resist hitting them with some Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist in "Hula Hoop"! The crystals are by Prima. The scallop punches are EK Success and the heart punch used to make the flowers is by Martha Stewart.

So Proud and Happy

On May 7th of this year was my graduation ceremony from Lansdale School of Business. I went to school for two years and graduated Summa Cum Laude with my Associates Degree in Medical Assisting. I received the top student award in the Allied Medical field, and got a 94% on my National Registry Certification exam. I am proud of this achievement and the graduation ceremony was very exciting and a very happy day.

This layout is entered in the Design Dollies element challenge for this week. The challenge is to scrap a school related theme with you as the focus.
The sketch is from The Scrap Room blog and my layout is entered in the week #35 challenge based on this sketch.

I used a page out of the Fancy Pants Memo Notebook  (the paper with the grid pattern and swirl). The rest of the paper and elements are Basic Grey with the exception of the following:
Flowers are Prima; Teal letters are Cosmo Cricket; Lace is Offray
Distress Inks are Tim Holtz; Butterfly punch is Martha Stewart.
