Greetings!
This week's Fabulous Friday Challenge at Frosted Designs is - Patterned Paper!
That means use only patterned paper on your project - no plain paper allowed! Our family had an awesome mini vacation at Knoebel's Family Resort in the Poconos of Pennsylvania in June of this year. Knoebel's has a wonderful amusement park, pool, and camping all on site. That is me with my husband in the middle picture - can you tell we were having fun? The top two pictures are my daughters with their kids and the bottom two are my sons in law with the kids.
In the July/August 2012 issue of Creating Keepsakes magazine there is an article on page 72 about shadowbox inspired layouts. I just loved the layout in the article and "lifted" it for my Knoebels layout.
The "shadowbox" aspect is that the center photo and banner under it are pop-dotted for dimension.
The patterned papers I've used are by Crate Paper from the Pink Plum and Paper Dolls collections.
For my title, the word "family" is Thickers Hat Box chipboard letters that came plain white. I used a Hero Arts stamp and VersaFine Ink on them. The "@" sign is from the same pack and is colored with Tim Holtz Distress Ink. The "fun" stickers are by OctoberAfternoon and are on a chipboard piece by Crate Paper.
The date stickers are TinyType by Cosmo Cricket. The heart punch I used is by Martha Stewart.
My stitching is "faux" using a white pen by Inksentials and the brads are by Crate Paper.
Thanks for looking at my layout!
I hope you are inspired to make a project using only patterned paper.
