My background paper started out plain white. First I used three different stamps in three different brown inks and randomly stamped all over. Next I painted over the whole thing with Liquitex Cadmium Yellow Medium paint. Finally I used a Balzer Designs 12x12 stencil called "Wedding Ring" and applied the pattern with four different colors of Staz-On ink using a dauber.
The picture is of our beautiful home which we've lived in for almost 28 years.
The tree embellishment is freeform cut from craft felt, the letters are Making Memories and the ribbons and gold buckle are from my stash. Ranger ink all around the edges
Do you like how I've piled up my leaves and strewn the numbers about randomly for my calendar? The journal spot is by Basic Grey and came with the matching clear overlay. The letters and numbers are Karen Foster Designs rub-ons. And that darlin' little bird is a Memory Box die cut from a scrap out of my stash.
I am entering my layout at Frilly and Funkie for their "Fall into Fall" challenge, at Berry 71 Bleu for their Mixed Media challenge and at Lasting Memories for their Autumn Splendor challenge.

I had to look twice at the background you created, at first I just thought it was manufactured paper, wow, color me impressed! You did a fabulous job! I also like the creative way you used the leaves for the calendar pages!! waving hi from the hills of North Carolina :)

Hello Aunt Tres,
I'm not sure if it was intentional but I love the way the wedding ring pattern looks like falling leaves, then the leaf form is again repeated in your leaf pile. That spot of blue on the bird brings nice balance.
Yes, I do love how you piled on the leaves and love all the stamping you did! Your home is gorgeous and the colors are fab! Thanks for joining us at Lasting Memories.
