Ransom Note

The Fabulous Friday Challenge at Frosted Designs this week is "Ransom Note" - what fun!
Whenever we go riding with more than one motorcycle and we are all loading up, this line from a Queen song goes through my head "Get on your bikes and ride!" The song is not even referring to motorcycles, but regular bicycles, never the less something about the way they shout it in the song makes me think of everyone jumping on their motorcycles and roaring away! So, of course, when my grandson got on this motorcycle springy thing at the park, that's the first thing I though of! My husband and I had our grandkids at the park without their parents that day and when I showed my son-in-law the picture he quipped "Bad grandparents - no helmet or boots!" (We are all very safety conscious and wear full gear when we ride) So I had to include that in my journaling.

This title is done in true ransom note style with the letters individually cut from a magazine and decoupaged on to a distressed kraft tag.

I used this sketch from Sassy Lil Sketches and am entering my layout in their sketch challenge.

All paper is by Fancy Pants Designs from the "Like Father Like Son" and "Rough and Tough" lines.
Tags and Ink are Tim Holtz for Ranger
Stamp is Studio G
Trinkets are Ranger
Mesh is drywall tape
Brads are Creative Impressions
and I used a Spellbinders Nestabilities Die

Here are some close-ups:

I hope you are inspired to make a "Ransom Note" project and link it up for the chance at a fabulous prize at Frosted Designs! Remember, Frosted Designs gives away a prize EVERY WEEK - this week's prize is this cute Halloween stamp set from Joys Life:

Oh SO boy!! I love how you are using some mixed media techniques in your scrapping. I noticed the "distressing" of the grey background paper, and of course the ransom note. Very cool, Mommom!!

Mom!! There are so many genius things happening here! I love the "ransom note" style, though I am sure more thought went into choosing just the right letters than it would for a normal ransom note.I LOVE how the circly stamp thing on the background paper also goes over the ransom note (so subtle!) I also love the hint of a road in the orange strip, and how the wavyness of it matches the wavyness of riding one of those spring things. This is all around fantastic, and ANOTHER great example of your ART (not just a scrap booker!!)
